Strategic partnership between the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department and Mbank enables the use of AE Coin to pay judicial fees

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Al Maryah Community Bank, aimed at developing smart banking mechanisms and innovative solutions—the first of their kind in the Middle East—to enable the use of digital currencies for paying judicial fees and legal transactions, thereby enhancing service efficiency and elevating customer experience.

Under the agreement, the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department becomes the first government entity in the region to adopt the AE Coin digital currency as an official payment method for settling judicial fees and legal services. This initiative marks a significant milestone in the country’s digital economy journey and represents the beginning of a new era in digital payments for government services.

Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, أكد that signing the agreement falls within the framework of ongoing development efforts across all sectors of the Judicial Department, in line with the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of the Presidential Court, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department. These efforts aim to establish an advanced judicial system characterized by flexibility and innovation, keeping pace with rapid digital transformation, contributing to the delivery of swift justice, and enhancing the competitive position of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

He added that the partnership agreement reflects the Department’s continued commitment to developing the judicial system and legal services, expanding smart payment options, and adopting digital currencies. This step aligns with the strategic direction of strengthening institutional partnerships with leading entities and supporting integration between the judicial and financial sectors through the use of modern technologies, thereby improving performance efficiency and fostering an attractive investment environment.

Omar Al Zaabi, Vice Chairman of Al Maryah Community Bank, said: “This partnership embodies our mission to drive banking innovation and contribute to the UAE’s leadership in digital financial services. By enabling payment using AE Coin for judicial services, we are not only simplifying access to government services but also setting a benchmark for how technology can be used to serve the public interest in a secure and future-ready manner.”
